Found in 1845, looted the following year. What remains: Theseus leaving Ariadne, Medusa, a lion, a panther, a dolphin, a hare, birds.
The pavement is wounded, and that is also what one comes to see: the villa did not cross two millennia intact. The museum does not disguise the gaps.
